Other Pests

Although many pests are not especially destructive or dangerous, they are still a nuisance.

We call these pests “occasional invaders”. Through regular maintenance and thorough exterior treatments we can keep the vast majority of these pests out of your home. Read below to learn more about occasional invaders.

Spiders
Spiders are a very common pest in Michigan. Thankfully, we don’t have any species that pose a significant health risk. In some situations spider problems become significant enough to warrant treatment. Near lakes and in heavily forested areas the amount of spiders can be overwhelming. We will work with you to create a program that will significantly reduce your spider populations and help prevent new spiders from moving in.
Centipedes
One of the most unsettling pests we have in Michigan is the House Centipede. These fast, furry creepers require a habitat with high humidity to survive and moist soil to reproduce. We will work with you to find the cause of the Centipede issue and develop a treatment program that will reduce their numbers significantly.
Millipedes
Millipedes occasionally appear in large enough numbers to require treatment. These sudden increases are usually associated with a combination of warm, wet weather and ideal breeding sites such as retaining walls and heavily mulched landscaping. We will provide a thorough exterior treatment to help prevent these from invading your home.
Crickets
These noisy little insects can become an issue when all of the right conditions are met. We will work with you to determine the cause and develop a treatment plan that will eliminate crickets indoors and out.
Silverfish
Silverfish are usually the symptom of a significant moisture problem. These, small, fast metallic silver colored insects require high humidity and a food source such as mold or fungus to reproduce. We will work with you to determine the cause and develop a treatment plan to eliminate these pests.
Pillbugs
Pill bugs, also known as Roly Polies, Wood Lice or Sow Bugs are an extremely common occasional invader. These pests rarely show up in large numbers but will consistently make their way inside throughout the summer. We will work with you to develop a maintenance program that will help keep these pests under control.
